Reflections

Well, my favorite tools are skype, image generators, comment and create a blog. The first tool I will use in my classroom are the conferences through skype with different professionals and children while we study our topic of jobs in the community.

Making good use of this tools will make my teaching more atractive and interactive for my K students.

I am surprised I am finally done with this curse and so excited about how much we can learn behind a desk with a computer and a great explanation.. I love the way it is all organized. I hope we'll have more classes like this. I am totally pro education on-line. Thank you all for preparing it.

Tool #11

The first good habits I would like to practice with my K students are :

Give credit to the authors of the sources,
Be polite (use good manners),
Personal safety.

Digital citizenship is use digital tools in a safe and ethical way. I would model and let them practice in a guided environment (like collaborating with others outside the classroom).

Tool #10

There are so many apps, for my students I liked the AB that allows them to trace letters and form words.

I had a staff development and we use an i-touch, It was really interesting, I like how it syncro, I can't wait to get them for the class.

My students could use them as an learning station like audio or ABC, also for math practice (addition, substraction, geometric shapes, etc.) would work great.

Tool #9

I think that we could use Jing to record how to access to the library or to navigate/ search on line, for my kindergarten class could be practical instead of reminding each one of them. They could access to the instructions with the voice and screens recorded.

I might use skype to invite profesionals to talk about their job to the class or to conference with someone in other country to explore different cultures. The idea of the read aloud by the author is very good too, I hope we get a camara : )

My students will help me updating this video so we can review and edit what is expected for them during station's time. I had fun working in this but it was a lot of time invested.

Tool #6

I would like to see my students collaborating to compleate a retelling or finishing a new story in a group. With my team, I m sure we'll find a lot of oportunities to use it instead of emailing everyone, like fieldtrips, birthdays celebrations and other events. I think about wikis in an informal way since is not as private as the google Docs where you can share and modify it only with the authorized access.

I liked this 2 websites:

http://www.tvazteca.com/hechos-noche/index

I used the tags: kindergarten learning games and tv hechos.
Enjoy.

I suscribed to diigo. Social bookmarking is a tool I enjoy because save me time to access back the information I already found interesting and I can share the notes taken.

Tool #4

Google Docs would be an excellent resource when sharing presentations for school events or editing lesson plan with the team members. This is what we call "sinergia". I practiced with my husband, we were writting at the same time, it was a romantic moment : )

Google reader will simplify the time we use to navigate and find what we haven't read that is interesting for us. I suscribed to the following blogs:

Joy Into Teaching
SOEJulie
dancer feet
speedlimit20
Moni-K's Musings

So keep working girls I am your follower.

Tool #3

Motivational posters (big hug labs) would be great to be created for the content vocabulary and the comic strips (bubblr) would help to create great story books.

Tool #2

It's exciting to be part of an online education, you can go as fast as you want and you can write down inmediatly your thoughts instead of waiting for the "right time" to ask in a classroom, don't you think? The personal learning network is a great way to interact with experts in order to expand our horizonts about a topic.
I liked the advice I read about commenting in others post to create conversations. It seems funnier than talking face to face specially when you are a little shy like me.

I made comments on the following blogs:
Moni-K's Musings
Always Learning
iHappyBlogger
Summer 2010
Joy into Teaching
